“Petricor” is the name for the pleasant smell that emanates from wet earth after a rainstorm. This may be the most distinct feature of Andorra: the scent of the forests, their moist soil, mountain streams and the aromatic plants of the Pyrenees.
Nature reigns supreme, the air is crisp and clean all year round, and from the mountains we look out over France on one side and Spain on the other. A breathtaking panorama unlike anything we know from the Alps, with a unique charm. Even though the Principality of Andorra is among the smallest nations in Europe, here you can breathe in freedom, and every morning you wake up feeling that anything is possible.

The feeling of being in a secret place full of wonders quickly spreads among visitors. Andorrans may have renounced the military, but they have a long history of cultural riches, culinary excellence and wine discoveries that amaze with their authenticity and quality.
A small nation, but with immense potential. 468 km² of Andorra’s territory is covered by forests, that is 90 percent of the country! And of this, ten percent of the territory has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site (including the Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley, since 2004, and the city of Ordino, which has been part of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 2020).

It has 100 kilometers of trails allow it to be explored on foot, its 88,800 plus inhabitants greet in Catalan, but they also speak Spanish and French. It’s an exotic and unknown place in the middle of the continent that we think we know like the back of our hands.
Freedom in the snow: touch the sky
The best time for a visit to Andorra, the country of spas and traditions, is winter, at least for snow lovers.
Its lowest point is a staggering 840 meters, Andorra has an average altitude of 1,996 meters, making it one of the highest European countries. You can feel like you’re in the clouds, here at the top of the world, where numerous peaks reach nearly 3,000 meters.
More than 300 kilometers of slopes await skiers and snowboarders. With Grandvalira, the Principality of Andorra has the longest slopes in the Pyrenees. Together with Pal Arinsal and Ordino Arcalís they form Grandvalira Resorts Andorra, which amaze with a total of 308 kilometers of slopes equipped for every degree of difficulty. Far more than can be explored in a single visit.
Grandvalira offers 215 km and 7 ski sectors, while Ordino Arcalís has 30.5 km and Pal Arinsal 63 km and 2 sectors. A true paradise for snow and winter sports lovers! Andorra has more kilometers of ski slopes than roads.

More than 800 ski schools teach beginners and professionals about snow sports, but the White Wonders also has much more in store. Snowshoeing in Andorra, a snowmobile tour, and dog sledding are activities without skis, but in close contact with snow and wilderness.
In Grandvalira , you can enjoy snowmobiling, snowshoeing, or building igloos, while in Ordino Arcalís you can snowshoe to the sunny viewpoint of Tristaina or Sorteny Nature Park.In Pal Arinsal, try the Big Zip cable car, go sledding or snowmobiling, among many other activities available.
When fatigue sets in in the evening, Grandvalira’s après-ski is revealed in all its elegance with aperitifs, dinners and music in more than 60 top-notch venues.
Naturland is Andorra’s main Nordic ski resort, a paradise for lovers of nature and outdoor activities. Located in Sant Julià de Lòria, it offers unique experiences in both winter and summer.

The resort is divided into two sectors: Quota 1600, the center of outdoor activities, and Quota 2000, home of the cross-country ski trails. This diversity makes it an ideal destination for everyone, from families to the most demanding athletes.
