The historic five-star hotel in the heart of the Queen of the Dolomites returns with 70 rooms, a 1,000 sq m spa by The Longevity Suite, and a restoration that intertwines historic architecture, contemporary design, and local craftsmanship.
Autumn is perhaps the moment when Cortina d’Ampezzo reveals its most authentic allure. The summer crowds thin out, the forests turn to gold, and the Dolomites seem to slow their pace. It is precisely in this season that one of the most representative addresses of Ampezzo hospitality inaugurates a new chapter in its history.
The Grand Hotel Ampezzo, a building dating back to the 1920s and now part of the DHOM Collection, reopens completely reimagined after a significant restoration that has preserved its historic character while introducing a new interpretation of alpine luxury.

Located in the heart of the historic center along Via della Stazione, just steps from Corso Italia and the Faloria cable car, the hotel once again occupies a central role in the transformation of Cortina—a destination increasingly projected onto the international stage ahead of Milano-Cortina 2026.
A restoration looking to the future without erasing the past
The intervention chose a precise path: to enhance the building’s architectural heritage without turning it into a nostalgic exercise.
The lobby welcomes guests with an inlaid marble floor, natural wood surfaces, and a large decorative bronze tree that serves as the focal point of the space, amplified by crystal pendants and light streaming through large windows. The project bears the signature of an international team led by architect Lucio Boni, alongside AI Progetti and Zuretti Design of Nice.

The lounge, featuring a Breccia Sarda marble fireplace, continues this dialogue between French elegance and Italian savoir-faire, creating environments designed to accompany the most informal moments of the stay.
Seventy rooms, natural materials, and a 110-square-meter Royal Suite
The project also encompasses all the guest rooms.
The Grand Hotel Ampezzo now offers 70 rooms, including 30 suites, categorized into Junior Suites, Suites, Premier Suites, Deluxe Suites, and an Ampezzo Royal Suite of approximately 110 square meters.
Walnut wood, Botticino marble, velvets, and a palette built around white and cream tones define spaces where the landscape enters naturally through views of the Dolomites and the internal garden.

Among the most distinctive details are the amenities by Amouage, the Omani high-perfumery maison, featuring the Reflection line, developed around Omani frankincense, leather, and woods.
The new Longevity SPA focuses on longevity
One of the most significant interventions concerns wellness.
Spanning approximately 1,000 square meters, the new The Longevity SPA was born from a collaboration with The Longevity Suite and represents the brand’s third Italian opening dedicated to longevity protocols.

The offering integrates personalized check-ups, biohacking, Total Body cryotherapy, Signature rituals, and treatments inspired by Blue Zone philosophy, alongside saunas, a Turkish bath, a swimming pool, a private spa, a gym, and a hair & beauty salon.

The architectural design of the spa also dialogues with the Dolomite landscape through surfaces in Jolie Grey marble, Cristallo Bianco, bronzed metals, and natural woods.

Between mountain cuisine and cocktails inspired by the Dolomites
Autumn also becomes a gastronomic season.
L’Ampezzino Café offers contemporary mixology accompanied by Italian wines and dishes designed for a quality break, while the Cucina restaurant reinterprets national tradition through offerings ranging from mushroom pappardelle to ravioli del plin with foie gras, through to Rossini fillet and quail with coffee-infused corn and lavender pine nuts.
The cocktails also tell the story of the territory with creations such as Rosa d’Ampezzo and Fleur des Monts.

Why autumn is the right time to rediscover Cortina
The return of the Grand Hotel Ampezzo coincides with a season that has been attracting more and more travelers in recent years.
Over 400 kilometers of trails, open lifts for panoramic excursions, trekking, and biking allow for experiencing the Dolomites at a different pace compared to winter. Furthermore, in September, the calendar features events such as The Queen of Taste (September 12-13), dedicated to contemporary mountain cuisine, and the Delicious Festival Dolomiti (September 25-26), which combines gastronomy, trail running, and alpine culture.
With rates starting from 350 euros per person in a double room with breakfast, the Grand Hotel Ampezzo reopens as a symbol of the new era of Ampezzo hospitality: a historic building that chooses to look forward, entrusting its luxury not to ostentation, but to the continuous relationship between architecture, landscape, and well-being.
